The Elite 8 and Davidson

Darnell Jackson, Rodrick Stewart, Tyrel Reed, Brady Morningstar, and Matt Kleinmann cheer on their team. Note the height of the floor. This thing could be dangerous if you went after a ball very quickly!
Sasha Kaun wanting a high five from Mario Chalmers as Darnell Jackson congratulates Mario

I thought this was interesting. Bill didn't want to below the court level to talk to his team. He found a stool to sit on the court. I'll bet those 2 guys behind him are shouting to him, "Down in front!"
KU is going onto the Elite 8 on Sunday. They beat Villanova by a score of 72--57. The Jayhawks looked stellar in the first half. Russell Robinson scored 13 quick points in the first three minutes of the game. The slam dunks made by Sasha Kaun and Darrell Arthur were awesome!! Then the second half came along and the 'Hawks looked sort of sluggish out there. Nova outscored them in the second half 35 to 31, but still lost the game by quite a margin. Nova really pressed them in the second half on defense. Leading scorer was Brandon Rush with 16, Russell Robinson had 15, Mario Chalmers had an impressive 14 points, being perfect from the stripe and hitting 6 out of 6 free throws. Then Sasha Kaun was great on defense and came up with 9 boards, Darrell Arthur had 7 points, Darnell Jackson and Sherron Collins both had 4, and coming off the bench scoring 3 points was Jeremy Case.
KU will be facing Davidson, a tenth seed who knocked off Georgetown and Wisconsin. Stephon Curry is all I've been hearing about. It seems like he score 33 points against Wisconsin. I am sure that the KU coaches have scouted Davidson. The 'Hawks still need to think about this game. This is a two day tournament for them and they must concentrate on Davidson strengths and weaknesses. They can't think of this team as being an easy team just because they are a 10th seed. Things aren't "in the bag" until the final buzzer. Rock Chalk Jayhawks!!
