We are packing our bags to drive up the turnpike tomorrow. Strategically planning where the best seat is in General Admission. S would say the best seat is in the student section near the goal. I would say the best seat would be behind the bench, or pretty near that area. Planning to have lunch at the Long---- and not at a turnpike McDonald's or Flying J.
At the game get our pizza and pop and think about getting popcorn at the half. Cheering our lungs out for our favorite players and watching dunks made by Sasha Kaun and Darnell Jackson. Hearing the crowd cheer loudly for Brandon Rush and Sherron Collins. The courtside announcer shout, "From New York" and the crowd in response answer "NEW YORK!!" for Russell Robinson. When they do the commercials for Gatorade and ask "Gatorade is it in you?" The crowd responding a resounding "NO!!!" Hearing the national anthem, the alma mater song "Hail to Old KU." Then the daunting "Rock Chalk" chant. The Big Jay and the Baby Jay, the flag coming out of the tunnell and the players running out of the tunnell.
Cheering for the players making great players and cheering with the student section. Listening to the band play to get you in the mood, if you are not already.
WOW!! (as Dave Armstrong would say). It is "wow!" The half time show, the half time rush to the bathrooms (LOL!) and to the concession stands. Then the end of the game. Rushing downstairs to find a good spot to meet the players for autographs and pictures.
It's hard to settle down once you get back to the hotel. But of course, you can watch a replay of the game on Channel 6.
Maybe some day we can take one of S's friends up there and J's friend, K1. We'd have a great time!
Lovin' LarryTown Basketball! :)
