What Season is it?

Here's the KU Jayhawks football team as they beat Florida International by a score of 40-10. Yet, also on tap today were two basketball games in Canada. The Jayhawks Basketball Team are in Ottawa, Canada playing exhibition games against two or three Canadian teams. They won their first game and just barely won the last one tonight by only 1 point!

We listened to some of the first game on the radio while traveling to Wichita. But for some reason it wasn't on a Wichita radio station. We caught the game on AM Radio on WIBW out of Topeka.

Remember AM radio? The buzzing when you pass by the electrical lines. The unclearness of the station itself. Turning the volume up all the way. Remember the stations we used to get? Late at night we could get WOAI out of San Antonio or KOMA out of Oklahoma City or a Mexican station that once featured a disc jockey by the name of Wolfman Jack or even WLS out of Chicago. Ah, those were the days of fuzzy sounding broadcasts before FM. It was always a treat to tune into AM radio just to see how far you could pick up a station with your little antenna.

Getting back to my subject...what season is it? On the calendar it's still summer. Schools, except for the west coast, have started. It should be football season. It's also Cross Country Season and Girl's Tennis Season.

This reminds me of a cartoon with Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd/and Daffy Duck. Elmer is confused is it rabbit season or duck season? Bugs Bunny holds up a sign and Elmer gets more and more confused. Is it rabbit season, duck season, fiddler crab season or what? Finally Bugs conceeds that it's baseball season and Elmer goes down the road shooting a baseball. Last year I waited too long to get a calendar and had to settle for something entirely different. Today I picked up my new 2009 calendar at Wal-Mart. The stores are now ready for Halloween too. I did go to a store just last week and saw Christmas trees blinking.

Now, I'm confused what season is it?
